The REAB-programme helps asylum seekers and migrants who wish to return voluntarily to their country of origin.
The programme offers pre-departure assistance and a flight ticket to the country of return. Under certain circumstances the returnee can get a REAB-premium which he/she receives in cash at the airport at the moment of his/her departure.
Since 1984, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has REAB-partners in every major city in Belgium where people interested in a voluntary return can turn to. Caritas International has been such a REAB-partner since the very beginning in 1984. Asylum seekers and migrants who wish to return voluntarily to their country of origin are assisted by the social service of Caritas International with the preparation of their departure.
The REAB-programme is financed by the Belgian government through the federal agency Fedasil and is carried out by IOM.
Migrants considering a return can come to Caritas International Social Service to book a departure date, from Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
