The Cell Voluntary Return and Reintegration at Caritas International Belgium is active in the field of voluntary return as a partner of IOM (International Organization for migration) since 1984, and in the field of Reintegration since 2004.

The REAB-programme helps asylum seekers and migrants who wish to return voluntarily to their country of origin.

The Reintegration Team of Caritas International can be contacted by and for anyone who is considering a voluntary return. Our regional case managers have a lot of experience with the different countries and the local partner organizations. We can provide information, but we can also prepare the potential returnees for their return and reintegration.

In cooperation with our local partners in the countries of return we look for individual answers to specific problems the returnees might encounter during their reintegration process.

The special project "Strengthening Tailor-made Assisted Voluntary Return" (STAVR) seeks to increase the chances of successful reintegration for people returning voluntarily to their country of origin after their stay in Belgium.
The “European Reintegration Support Organisations” (ERSO) network helps European partners and organisations in countries of return to cooperate. It specifically helps rejected asylum seekers and irregular migrants who return voluntarily from EU member states to get social or business assistance to facilitate their reintegration in their home country.

Our staff is available to answer any type of question about any country. If you have a question, please contact the regional case manager responsible for the country your question is about.

In 2009 our staff contacted the main migrant organizations in Belgium representing the migrant communities of the countries included in the STAVR-project
